The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles using management’s estimates and judgments where necessary. The financial information contained elsewhere in this annual report is consistent with that in the financial statements. Tree Top, Inc. maintains a system of internal accounting controls designed to provide reasonable assurance that assets are safeguarded against loss or unauthorized use and that financial records are adequate and can be relied upon to produce financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The concept of reasonable assurance is based on the recognition that the cost of maintaining our system of internal accounting controls should not exceed benefits expected to be derived from the system. Moss Adams LLP, independent auditors, are retained to audit Tree Top, Inc.’s financial statements. Their audit is conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and provides an independent assessment that helps assure fair representation of the Cooperative’s financial position. The audited financial statements and the Moss Adams LLP opinion on those financial statements is published separately and is available to members at http://enter.treetop.com/web/CtlGrowers or by contacting Grower Accounting at (509) 697-7251. The Board of Directors, through its Audit Committee, exercises an oversight role in the Cooperative’s financial statements. The committee meets periodically with management and the independent auditors. These meetings include discussions of internal accounting control and the quality of financial reporting. Financial management and the independent auditors have full and free access to the Audit Committee. The management of your Cooperative recognizes its responsibility to conduct Tree Top, Inc.’s business in accordance with high ethical standards. This responsibility is reflected in key policy statements that, among other things, address potentially conflicting outside business interests of company employees and the proper conduct of domestic and international business activities. Ongoing communications and review programs are designed to help ensure compliance with these policies. TOM STOKES RICHARD W. BAILEY, EXECUTIVE |
