Tree Top Tree Top 2004 Annual Report
Chairman's Letter CEO's Letter Financial Report Board of Directors Corporate Info

I think it's safe to say, our growers don't grow fruit with the intent of turning it into juice or frozen apple slices for baking. We grow fruit to sell in the fresh market; that's where we can earn the most from our labor. But the reality is, not every piece of fruit is fresh market quality. Which is why this cooperative was started so many years ago, to provide a secondary market for what would otherwise be wasted. It will serve us well to keep this fact in mind.

Over those 45 years, Tree Top has expanded our horizons by creating new market opportunities. From plain apple juice to a variety of blended juices; from plain apple sauce to a variety of flavored sauces; from dried to fresh apple slices for use as ingredients in a myriad of products; from dried fruit snacks to packaged fresh apple slices. The cooperative forecasts market trends and stays abreast of technology changes so we can continue working our orchards safe in the knowledge there is a home for our processor fruit, regardless of the crop size; safe in the knowledge it will do what needs to be done to process our fruit most efficiently, with a focus on providing us a decent return.

Having served as your Chairman this past year, I've had the opportunity to observe all these things maybe a little closer than most. And while I've been thankful for Tree Top’s existence, I now have a much fuller understanding of the value of our cooperative.

One fiscal year ends. A new one begins. After 15 years of service to your Board, Darrell Collins has decided to retire. Thank you, Darrell, for your service.

As the seasons change, and we are already in the throes of harvest, I look forward to working with Tree Top and serving you in the year ahead.

Sincerely,

Fred Valentine
