Apple Brown Betty
- 1/3 C sugar =69g
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 C dry bread crumbs =198g
- 2 C diced apples* =309g
- 3 tbsp melted margarine =42 g
Mix sugar, cinnamon, salt. Put layer of crumbs in greased baking dish.
Cover with layer of apples. Sprinkle with sugar mixture. Continue layering
until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of crumbs on top.
Pour melted margarine over crumbs. Cover dish. Bake in a 375 oven for 40
minutes. Remove cover the last 10 minutes to brown the top. Makes 4 servings.
*Can use rehydrated low moisture/evaporated or frozen apples
