Ingredients: 4 cups flour; 1 teaspoon nutmeg; 1 teaspoon cloves; 1 teaspoon cinnamon; 1 teaspoon salt; 1 cup shortening; 2 cups sugar; 2 cups Tree Top Apple Sauce; 2 teaspoons baking soda; 2 cups chopped walnuts; 2 cups golden raisins; 2 eggs; Cream Cheese Frosting (Optional)

Grandma's Apple Sauce Cookies

A wonderful moist cookie that will remind you of grandma's house.

Ingredients

4 cups flour
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 cups Tree Top Apple Sauce
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups chopped walnuts
2 cups golden raisins
2 eggs
Cream Cheese Frosting Optional

Instructions

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Mix soda into apple sauce. Stir well and blend into creamed mixture. Blend in dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes. Let cool. If desired, frost with cream cheese frosting.

Top with cream cheese frosting.
