Apple Barbeque Sauce

This BBQ sauce can be used with pork or chicken as well as beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 3 cups Tree Top 100% Apple Juice
  • 1 cup Tree Top Natural Apple Sauce
  • ½ cup cider vinegar
  • ½ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbs. ground mustard powder
  • 1 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbs. Liquid Smoke
  • 2 12 oz. bottles chili sauce
  • hot pepper sauce to taste

Directions

  1. Bring all ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan. Reduce heat and simmer until sauce is thickened and volume is reduced in half. Pour barbeque sauce into sterilized 8 oz. canning jars. Seal with 2 piece sterilized lids. Boiling water bath for 10 minutes. Remove with tongs and cool. Unsealed jars may be stored in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
